ASHEVILLE, N.C. — A 55-year-old Asheville man has been arrested on multiple drug trafficking charges after police discovered large quantities of fentanyl and crack cocaine during a proactive patrol.
Warren Daryl Brathwaite was arrested the night of May 21, 2025, around 9:20 p.m., during a crime prevention operation conducted by the Asheville Police Department on Deaverview Road in West Asheville.
According to a May 22 police release, officers made contact with Brathwaite and found him in possession of:
37 grams of fentanyl
14.68 grams of crack cocaine
$7,442 in U.S. currency
Brathwaite was taken into custody without incident and faces the following charges:
Level III trafficking of opium by transport
Level III trafficking of opium by possession
Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver cocaine
Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver fentanyl
Maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances
Two counts of manufacturing, selling, delivering, or possessing controlled substances within 1,000 feet of a park
Two counts of felony possession of Schedule II controlled substances
Traffic violations
Brathwaite was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $200,000 secured bond.
