LAFAYETTE, IN — A Lafayette man has been sentenced to 20 years, including 16 years in prison, after pleading guilty to multiple felony drug offenses and misdemeanors tied to two separate incidents in 2022 and 2024.
Warren Blakeley, 34, received the sentence in Tippecanoe Superior Court 1 on Thursday. His plea agreement included convictions for:
Level 3 felony: Possession of cocaine
Two Level 4 felonies: Possession of a narcotic drug with enhancing circumstances
Two Class A misdemeanors: Resisting law enforcement and failure of a sex/violent offender to possess identification
The first incident occurred on May 1, 2022, when officers responded to a call from Tippecanoe County Community Corrections. Blakeley, located at a residence on Cincinnati Street, fled as officers attempted to search his belongings. During the chase, police recovered:
Over 10 grams of cocaine
Marijuana
More than $600 in cash
Other narcotics
A witness later turned over methamphetamine allegedly dropped during the chase
The second incident took place on September 16, 2024, when Blakeley was arrested on an active warrant at an apartment on Hartford Street. During a search, officers found:
Methamphetamine and $1,000 in cash on Blakeley
A search of the apartment revealed heroin, cocaine, syringes, and packaging materials
A resident admitted to purchasing heroin from him
Blakeley will serve 16 years in the Indiana Department of Correction, followed by 4 years of probation.
The case was prosecuted by the Tippecanoe County Prosecutor’s Office.
