STAFFORD — A Waretown woman has been charged after allegedly stealing thousands of dollars worth of jewelry from a home in Stafford Township, police said.
Following a two-month investigation supported by Long Beach Township and Ocean Township (Waretown) police, detectives arrested 33-year-old Katelynn Stanfield of Chestnut Street, Waretown.
Authorities say Stanfield, who worked as a residential cleaner at the property, stole approximately $6,000 in assorted jewelry, according to Stafford Township Police.
Stanfield faces charges of third-degree theft by unlawful taking and third-degree fencing, or dealing in stolen property. She was released on a complaint summons and is scheduled to appear in Ocean County Superior Court.
Detective Zac Halliday led the arrest. Police emphasized that arrest photos are not released and that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
