Walter Chahwanda, a UK-based gospel musician and pastor, has been charged with ten additional sexual offences as part of an ongoing investigation by Merseyside Police. The 33-year-old, residing at Plemonstall Court, remains in custody on remand.
Chahwanda was initially arrested on 27 February 2024 and again on 13 March 2025. In March 2025, he faced eleven charges, including rape, assault by penetration, cyber flashing, multiple counts of sexual activity with a female aged 13 to 15, sexual communication with a child, causing a child to view sexual images, and blackmail.
Recently, prosecutors authorized ten further charges involving multiple victims. These include blackmail, two counts of engaging in sexual communications with a child, six counts of malicious communications, and causing a child to view a sexual act.
Chahwanda is set to remain in custody as he awaits trial, scheduled for September 2025.
