HO CHI MINH CITY — Vo Thanh Tam, CEO of My Trinh Cosmetics, along with his wife Ngo Anh Hong and 15 others, were arrested Tuesday for operating a company manufacturing and selling counterfeit medicinal products, including 70,000 bottles of fake Eagle Brand Medicated Oil.
The couple managed My Trinh Cosmetics and another company involved in producing seven different types of counterfeit Eagle Brand Medicated Oil — a well-known Singaporean product used to relieve muscular and joint pains. Authorities also found thousands of other fake medicinal goods being made and distributed.
Police had been monitoring the businesses before making the arrests, which target the production and sale of fake goods classified as medicinal or preventive drugs.
