Vizianagaram Police Arrest Four in 100kg Interstate Marijuana Bust

Four held with 100 kg ganja in vehicle at Gotlam Bypass Road

Vizianagaram district police successfully busted an interstate marijuana smuggling ring by arresting four individuals and seizing 100 kilograms of ganja valued at lakhs of rupees. The Bondapalli police intercepted a car at Gotlam Bypass Road Junction on Saturday, acting on a tip-off about drug trafficking between Odisha and Tamil Nadu.

According to DSP Jindal, the officers stopped a vehicle bearing a Maharashtra registration number and discovered 48 packets containing 100 kg of marijuana. Along with the narcotics, four mobile phones, Rs2,500 in cash, and the vehicle used for transportation were seized.

The arrested accused include Manoranjan Mishra (28) from Odisha, identified as the kingpin of the smuggling network, Dalai Ramaraju (45) from Anakapalli district, Virumandi Gopi (49) from Visakhapatnam, and Pandiam Manikyam (36) from Tamil Nadu. Further investigations are ongoing to dismantle the entire drug network.
