Vizag city police have arrested four individuals linked to the promotion of illegal betting websites. The accused, identified as G Praveen Kumar, Madinavalli, Razia Begum, and Dharani—all residents of Vizag—were part of a sophisticated operation targeting innocent citizens with promises of high returns on small investments.
According to the police, the accused contacted potential victims by telephone, persuading them to register on betting platforms through demo logins. They then gradually encouraged victims to deposit money using QR codes shared over WhatsApp.
The investigation is ongoing as the police work to apprehend additional suspects involved in the racket.
