Vittal Police Arrest Three for Stealing Rs 12,000-15,000 from Temple Donation Boxes

Youth busted for breaking donation boxes at Kanyana place of worship

The Vittal police have arrested three youths for allegedly stealing cash from donation boxes placed at a place of worship in Kanyana, Bantwal taluk. The accused — Twaheed (19), Ummar Farooq (18), and Mohammad Nabeel (18) — are residents of Vittla Kasaba village, police confirmed.

The theft came to light when D Narayana Rao (72), the president of the worship place and a local resident of Delantabettu, found two roadside donation boxes near Delantabettu school forcibly broken open during his routine collection of offerings on July 26. The stolen amount is estimated to be between Rs 12,000 and Rs 15,000.

A case has been registered at the Vittal Police Station under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police continue to investigate the incident.
