In a major operation targeting drug trafficking, Belagavi police have arrested four individuals and seized heroin, while Maharashtra police uncovered a large-scale MDMA manufacturing lab near Mysuru.

Acting on a tip-off, Khadebazar and Market police in Belagavi apprehended Vishwanath Gotadaki and Mayur Raut from Tangadi Galli with 14.63 grams of heroin worth Rs33,000. In a separate raid, Waktarahmad Naikwadi, Roshan, and Jameen Mulla were arrested from Kamath Galli. FIRs have been filed at both Khadebazar and Market police stations.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra police, following leads from a drug peddler, uncovered a massive MDMA drug manufacturing unit on the outskirts of Mysuru, near the Ring Road. The interrogation revealed that the Mysuru-based lab was a key supplier in the trafficker’s chain. Three suspects involved in production have been arrested.

The seized narcotics are estimated to be worth crores of rupees, and initial evidence suggests that the lab supplied MDMA to both domestic and international markets.

Authorities from Karnataka and Maharashtra have stepped up inter-state coordination to fully dismantle the wider trafficking network.
