A Virginia woman, 44-year-old Gennevieve McGhee, has been arrested on charges of criminal solicitation of murder after she allegedly attempted to arrange for a murder to be carried out. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office reported that McGhee was communicating with a confidential informant on November 26, during which she outlined plans for a robbery and murder.
The informant, who was cooperating with law enforcement, recorded the conversation, which included detailed instructions from McGhee on how the crime was to be executed. The recording, which was captured both on audio and video, led to a positive identification of McGhee.
The sheriff’s office stated that during the conversation, McGhee discussed the payment arrangements and provided explicit instructions on how she wanted the crime carried out. Law enforcement swiftly moved in, arresting McGhee on November 27. She is currently being held without bond at the Henry County Adult Detention Center.
At the time of her arrest, McGhee was charged with criminal solicitation of murder and conspiracy to commit a felony. The sheriff’s office has not disclosed the identity of the intended victim or the confidential informant involved in the case.
The investigation is ongoing, and the case is under review by the Henry County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.
