Vinod Tank Held for Murder of Delhi Woman in Udaipur

Love, Lies & Death: Half-Burnt Body Sparks Probe

by Ananya Mehta

In a chilling end to a troubled relationship, Udaipur police have solved the brutal murder of a woman whose half-burnt body was found at a cremation ground in the Madar area. The deceased, identified as Aarti from Delhi, was reportedly involved in the escort service industry and was living in a live-in relationship with her handler, Vinod Tank, who has now been arrested for her murder.

The case first came to light when locals discovered a charred body at the cremation ground. The Badgaon police launched an intensive investigation, analyzing over 200 CCTV camera recordings and tracking more than 100 mobile numbers. Their efforts finally led to a Creta car seen near the crime scene, which was traced to Vinod Tank.

According to police, tensions had been building between the two. Aarti was allegedly pressuring Vinod with personal and financial demands, which eventually led to fatal consequences. In a fit of rage, Vinod strangled her in their home. To cover his tracks, he transported her body to the cremation ground, doused it in petrol, and set it ablaze.

SP Udaipur Yogesh Goyal confirmed that both Aarti and Vinod had been operating in the escort business for about a year while staying together in Udaipur. The victim’s family in Delhi has been notified, and a post-mortem will be conducted once they arrive.

Vinod is currently in police custody, and further questioning is underway to uncover more details about the crime.
