In a major crackdown, a joint operation by the Bhilwara DST, Cyber Cell, and Sadar police led to the arrest of five individuals allegedly involved in running an online betting racket. The arrested include Vinod Kumar (30) of Harni Kala, Gopal Das Ghirwani (35) of Azad Nagar, Manish Bhadada (49), Deepak Bhadada (45), and Bhagwati Lal Jat (35).

The operation was conducted under the leadership of SP Dharmendra Singh Yadav, ASP Parasmal Jain, and DySP Shyam Sundar Bishnoi. Acting on a tip, the police intercepted suspects who were placing online cricket bets using mobile applications.

Initial investigations revealed betting transactions worth Rs65 lakh linked to Vinod Kumar and Rs25 lakh connected to Gopal Das. Analysis of their digital devices confirmed their role in operating illegal betting IDs on online platforms.

Further interrogation led to the arrest of their associates. Authorities uncovered that Rs90 lakh in total transactions was made through betting-related activities. The suspects are also being investigated for potential connections to international money laundering, drug trafficking, land mafia, and even terrorist financing.

SP Yadav confirmed that Section 107 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been invoked. Investigations are ongoing, with a deep dive into bank accounts, communications, and property records.
