Villupuram police arrested two habitual offenders on Monday night in connection with a series of house break-ins. The accused, identified as Mani alias Balakrishnan (38) from Thoothukudi and Selvakumar alias Samuel (40) from Tenkasi, were caught with a haul of 35 sovereigns of jewellery.
Both Mani and Selvakumar have been involved in multiple criminal cases, according to police sources. The recovered jewellery is believed to be stolen during their recent burglary sprees.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to trace further leads and recover any additional stolen property.
