Four individuals involved in cybercrime were arrested for allegedly murdering 25-year-old Vikash Kumar Yadav, also known as Vicky, from Banka district, Bihar, over a money dispute. Police revealed that the deceased was himself engaged in cybercrime.
Vikash’s bullet-riddled body was discovered on December 15 in an abandoned location near Sakribandh under Taljhari police station in Dumka.
“The main accused, Sandeep Yadav, is still absconding,” said Dumka Superintendent of Police Pitambar Singh Kherwar. He added that the murder stemmed from a financial disagreement.
Investigations showed that Vikash owed money to the main suspect, related to a share in a cyber fraud, and had been reluctant to repay it. The victim and the main accused were distant relatives. Kherwar stated that Sandeep Yadav, along with four accomplices, abducted Vikash and carried out the murder.
The arrested suspects are Chandrakant Kumar Yadav (21), Dhiraj Kumar (22), Nitesh Kumar alias Widdu (22), and Arvind Kumar (19).
