In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, a joint operation by the Shamshabad Special Operations Team (SOT) and Shadnagar police led to the arrest of a drug peddler with narcotics valued at Rs3.05 crore on Friday, May 30.
The accused, Vikas Sohu, 26, hails from Nagaur district in Rajasthan. He was apprehended at Sanju Bhai Marwadi Dhaba, located near the Raikal toll gate on the Hyderabad-Bengaluru highway, where he was employed as a cook.
Authorities seized a substantial cache of narcotics including 1.5 kilograms of heroin, 632 grams of opium, 2.8 kilograms of poppy straw, and 1 kilogram of dry ganja. Additionally, Rs89,700 in cash, a digital weighing machine, poly covers, and three mobile phones were confiscated during the bust.
This successful raid highlights ongoing efforts by Telangana police to combat the drug menace in the region.
