The Chevayur police arrested a 37-year-old man from Malappuram on Thursday (February 13, 2025), who was allegedly attempting to steal money from an ATM at Parambil Kadavu in Kozhikode city. The suspect, identified as Vijesh from Othukkungal, was apprehended by a flying squad conducting a night patrol around 2:30 a.m.
According to police sources, Vijesh was carrying a cutter with the intent to break into the ATM machine, which was operated by a private ATM service provider. The flying squad noticed suspicious movements around the ATM counter and immediately stopped the vehicle in front of it. Upon investigation, the suspect was found attempting to break the machine using a gas cutter.
