Several sentenced for theft, drug, and assault charges in Douglas County

A California man, Victor Vasquez Anguiano, 30, waived extradition to Solano County, California, on Thursday amid theft charges linked to an e-bike theft ring.

Anguiano has two active warrants in California, including one for similar thefts in Fairfield. On May 20, he received a suspended 13-36 month sentence related to the 2024 theft of e-bikes and a generator. He was credited for 116 days already served in jail.

Attorney William Swafford explained that Anguiano’s methamphetamine and gambling addictions contributed to his criminal behavior. Anguiano owned the white van used to transport three e-bikes and a generator during a May 2024 theft while working in Douglas County as an electrician.

Prosecutor Ric Casper noted Anguiano initially cooperated with law enforcement on May 26, 2024, but later failed to appear, prompting a warrant. Court records show Anguiano admitted to stealing a generator on May 19 and three e-bikes on May 26, with stolen items valued over $1,200.

Other recent Douglas County cases include:

Jessie James Avalos, 31, who faces possible probation revocation after pleading guilty to gross misdemeanor attempted vehicle burglary. Avalos has been in custody since January 20 and is scheduled for a hearing on June 4 for additional misdemeanors. He has prior prison terms including a 2024 sentence for drug possession and a 1-3 year sentence for eluding police during a 2019 manhunt.

Dwight David Rollings, 41, admitted to four methamphetamine sales last year and failure to appear in court. He received suspended sentences of 19-52 months for drug supply and 12-30 months for failing to appear, which would be enforced if probation is violated. Rollings served 126 days in custody and fled to Oregon fearing his case outcome.

Palmer Craig Stanfield, 29, sentenced to a suspended 18-48 month term after admitting to felony attempted unlawful acts involving excrement by a prisoner, following an incident involving a knife. He will serve two years probation and is participating in a treatment program in Los Angeles.

Gerry O’Neal Bogdon Hiskett, 37, was granted a diversion program after admitting to huffing canned air at the time of his felony DUI arrest on March 27. Hiskett has previous DUI offenses in Carson City and East Fork.
