Victor Manuel Flores Charged in Tucson Bike Path Shooting Death

Faces second-degree murder in fatal shooting of Armando Betancourt-Audia

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) — A man has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of Armando Betancourt-Audia, 33, that occurred on April 25 at a well-known Tucson bike path.

According to the Tucson Police Department, the shooting happened at the Rillito River Park Trail, near First Avenue and Wetmore Road, following a confrontation. Betancourt-Audia was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

On May 1, authorities arrested Victor Manuel Flores, 34, on Tucson’s east side. He is now facing a second-degree murder charge and is being held on $1 million bond.

Police have not yet released further details on the motive or circumstances surrounding the confrontation. The investigation remains active.
