Victor Jeffries, 64, has been sentenced to 12 months in prison after a violent outburst in a Warrington pub on December 7, 2024. Jeffries was initially reported for assaulting pub staff by throwing punches and kicks. When police arrived at the scene on Horsemarket Street, Jeffries escalated the situation by brandishing a knife and threatening the officers.
After a brief struggle, police managed to disarm Jeffries and arrest him. However, during transport to the police station, he attempted to headbutt another officer. Jeffries was charged with assaulting an emergency worker, making threats with a bladed article, and public order offences.
He pleaded guilty to all charges and was sentenced to 12 months in prison at Chester Magistrates’ Court on December 9. Chief Inspector Neil Drum condemned Jeffries’ actions, stating that such behavior is intolerable and that officers risk their lives daily to protect the public.
