LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — The Lynchburg Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection with a murder that occurred last week.
Police announced the arrest of 40-year-old Victor Dale Giles, who has been charged in the fatal shooting of 31-year-old Kasim Holmes.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting on Rivermont Avenue just before 9 p.m. on Monday, where they found Holmes deceased in the front yard of a residence.
Following the investigation, Giles was charged with:
First-Degree Murder
Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony
Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
The Lynchburg Police Department said the case remains active and ongoing and thanked community members for their assistance in the investigation.
