The Versova police arrested Yenna Christina Idowha, a 34-year-old Nigerian woman residing in Noida, New Delhi, for possession of cocaine worth Rs 1.42 crore. The arrest took place during a targeted operation conducted by the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) on June 30 at Old MHADA, Andheri West.
Police noticed Idowha acting suspiciously around 3 am and stopped her for questioning. Upon searching her bag in the presence of a female officer, authorities recovered 30 capsules containing 418 grams of cocaine.
Senior Police Inspector Gajanan Pawar confirmed that Idowha identified herself during interrogation and is originally from Ondo, Nigeria. The police are now investigating the source of the drugs and her intended recipients to dismantle the drug trafficking network.
