CHICAGO — A woman has been arrested in connection with a series of burglaries, mail thefts, armed robberies, and vehicle thefts in Chicago and northern Cook County.
Veronica Cavallari, 29, was taken into custody and booked on Dec. 15. She faces federal charges including felon in possession of a weapon, possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number, and criminal damage to government property, according to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. Additional charges for burglary and automobile theft are pending.
Ruth M. Mendonça, inspector in charge of the Chicago Division of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, said the agency is committed to protecting the nation’s mail system, its employees, and customers, while working closely with law enforcement partners.
