Four Ventura County residents have been arrested in connection with a robbery that occurred at a Fillmore gas station in June, authorities said.
According to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, the suspects—ages 18 to 33—are residents of El Rio, Oxnard, and Camarillo. Deputies responded to the Chevron station at 704 Ventura Street shortly after midnight on June 8, following reports of a theft in progress.
Investigators said multiple suspects entered the store, threatened the clerk with violence, and used force when confronted. They then fled the scene in a white sedan before deputies arrived. Authorities later linked the group to a local street gang.
After a two-month investigation, all four suspects were arrested in August. Three of them have since been formally charged in Ventura County Superior Court. The fourth, a 33-year-old from Oxnard, was cited and released due to medical reasons.
Among those charged is an 18-year-old man from Camarillo, who faces felony charges of second-degree robbery and conspiracy. He also faces special allegations tied to parole or probation violations. He pleaded not guilty and remains in Ventura County Jail on $75,000 bail. His next court date is October 1.
A 19-year-old from El Rio was charged with felony conspiracy and is facing additional allegations that the crime was carried out with sophistication. He also pleaded not guilty and was released on a $20,000 bond.
A third suspect, a 20-year-old also from El Rio, faces charges of second-degree robbery and conspiracy. He is accused of being armed and using a weapon during the crime. He pleaded not guilty and was released on $50,000 bond. He is also due back in court on October 1.
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the case in collaboration with the city of Fillmore, where it provides contracted policing services.
