Venkata Jagadeeshwar Reddy, a 25-year-old former software employee, was arrested again for drug peddling in Mylardevpally by the Shamshabad Excise District Task Force on Monday night.

This is Reddy’s second arrest in less than six months for drug-related offenses. He was previously caught in February in Uppal with MDMA, OG Kush, and ganja after losing his job at a software MNC in Bengaluru.

According to Inspector Praveen from the Shamshabad Excise DTF, Reddy was apprehended near Mehfil Hotel with 23.3 grams of MDMA. Investigations revealed that he procured the drug from Saif Sharif, a Bengaluru-based supplier, at Rs1,500 per gram and sold it to buyers in Hyderabad for Rs5,000–Rs8,000 per gram.

Following his release from prison in May, Reddy resumed drug dealing despite his prior arrest. A case has been booked under the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway.

Authorities are now tracking the network linking Reddy to other possible suppliers and customers in the city.
