Alia Bhatt’s former personal assistant, Vedika Prakash Shetty, was arrested on Tuesday in Bengaluru by Juhu Police for allegedly swindling over Rs77 lakh from the actress and her production house, Eternal Sunshine Productions Pvt Ltd.
Vedika, who was associated with Alia Bhatt for more than two years, handled both her personal and business affairs, including overseeing the operations of the production company. The professional relationship ended in 2024.
According to reports, Shetty is accused of fraudulently withdrawing money from both Alia’s personal accounts and the production house using fake bills. The complaint was initially filed by Alia’s mother, Soni Razdan, earlier this year.
As investigations continue, neither Alia Bhatt nor her team have commented on the incident. Meanwhile, Alia is currently engaged in shooting her upcoming projects, including the film Alpha from the Spy Universe series, slated for release on December 25, 2025. She also has upcoming films like Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War and Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Lee Zara lined up, with big stars like Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Katrina Kaif, and Priyanka Chopra.
Police are continuing their probe to uncover further details about the alleged fraud.
