The Thiruvananthapuram City Police have apprehended a second suspect in connection with the massive seizure of 325.267 kg of ganja at Pappanamcode. The accused has been identified as Varun V.G., 29, from Melamcode.
The contraband was intercepted on February 16 after police stopped a car transporting the cannabis from Tamil Nadu to Kerala. According to authorities, Varun had accompanied the prime suspect, Afsal of Karakulam, who was previously arrested, to help facilitate the smuggling operation. He reportedly traveled in a separate vehicle as part of the coordinated effort.
Varun was taken into custody from Melamcode late Saturday, and police have confirmed that investigations are ongoing to uncover additional individuals involved in the inter-state drug trafficking network.
