Vanjarapu Siva Gangaraju Arrested for Murder & Robbery

Woman Killed, Gold & Cash Recovered by Visakhapatnam Police

The Visakhapatnam City Police arrested Vanjarapu Siva Gangaraju alias Tata Siva (34) for the murder of Kapu Lakshmi (54) and theft of gold and cash from her residence under Arilova police station limits.

Incident Details

Date of crime: February 11

Victim: Kapu Lakshmi (54), found dead by her husband, Kapu Venkata Ramana

Initial complaint: Unknown assailants murdered the victim and looted gold ornaments and cash.

Investigation & Arrest

Special teams led by DCP (Crime) Latha Madhuri, ACP Dwarka Sub-Division, and Arilova Circle Inspector B Bhadra Rao conducted the investigation.

Tools used: CCTV footage and call detail record (CDR) analysis.

The accused had fled to Dhanbad, Kashi, and Delhi before being arrested at Visakhapatnam railway station on February 22.

Recovery from Accused

Cash: Rs 5.5 lakh

Gold: Gold chain (16.10 g), bangles, rings, Lakshmi Devi idols, black-beaded chain

Other: Cell phone and motorcycle
