DANVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — Two people were arrested Monday evening in connection with a theft at the Lowe’s in Danville, according to the Danville Police Department.
Police say 44-year-old Vandana Horbas entered the store and attempted to purchase $2,800 worth of merchandise. During the transaction, she allegedly used distraction and quick-change tactics to complete the purchase for only $1,600 before fleeing the area as a passenger in an Audi SUV with Texas plates.
Officers quickly located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop, identifying the driver as 41-year-old Ioca Horbas. Both individuals were taken into custody.
Investigators later discovered the Horbases are suspects in a series of similar thefts and merchandise return scams at multiple Lowe’s locations across Kentucky and Tennessee. The case remains under investigation.
