VALLEJO, Calif. — Six stolen vehicles, including several classic American pony cars, were recovered after Solano County deputies served a warrant at a Vallejo home on November 25.
Authorities say the 35-year-old resident initially refused to come out. Deputies used forced entry and discovered that the suspect had allegedly broken his cell phone and set a fire on his bedroom floor, apparently attempting to destroy evidence.
Despite this, officers recovered six stolen vehicles, many with swapped or altered Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs). Recovered vehicles included:
1966 Ford Mustang
1967 Ford Shelby Cobra GT Mustang
1969 Chevy Camaro
2020 GMC 2500 Denali
Chevy Corvette engine
Cargo King enclosed trailer
Also seized was a black car trailer with a custom Chevy frame, estimated at $300,000.
The suspect, whose name has not been released, was booked into Solano County Jail on charges including possession of stolen vehicles, operating a chop shop, altering VIN numbers, possession of a vehicle with an altered VIN, and destruction of evidence.
