A 33-year-old Philadelphia man, Vakhtang Shushanidze, has been arrested and charged with felony retail theft after an incident at a Walmart store in Warrington, Pennsylvania.

On May 22, police responded to a report of retail theft at the Walmart location. Loss prevention officers informed authorities that two men had filled two shopping carts with merchandise valued at approximately $2,200. When confronted by store staff while attempting to leave without paying, the suspects abandoned the carts and fled the scene.

Warrington Police later identified one of the suspects as Vakhtang Shushanidze. On June 30, Shushanidze voluntarily turned himself in to authorities. He was arraigned before Judge Wertman, who set bail at $300,000 or 10 percent cash. Unable to post bail, Shushanidze was detained and transported to Bucks County Correctional Facility.

He now faces two counts of felony retail theft and two counts of receiving stolen property as the investigation continues.
