Delhi Police have arrested Vakeel Malik, a vegetable seller, in connection with the fatal shooting of 19-year-old Naushad in the Bhalswa Dairy area in October 2024. Malik had been absconding for nearly a year before being apprehended near the Ballabhgarh Metro Station in Haryana, following a police tip-off.

The shooting, which occurred over a year ago, also left 29-year-old Asif injured. Investigations revealed that three men were involved in the incident—Vakeel Malik, his brother Shakeel, and an accomplice named Prince. Shakeel had previously been taken into custody, and Malik’s arrest marks a breakthrough in the case.

During interrogation, Malik confessed to his role in the crime, bringing an end to the prolonged manhunt. Authorities are now pursuing the remaining accused to ensure justice for the victims.
