Police in Hyderabad arrested two young men for allegedly dragging a 45-year-old private employee for several metres after he attempted to stop their vehicle following a collision.

The accused were identified as Uppari Mahesh (23) and Anagandula Tarun (22). The arrest was made by the Kushaiguda Police on Friday.

The victim, M Sathish, was travelling with his colleagues, P Chinnaiah and Vijay Kumar, in an MG Windsor car from Mallapur to Rampally around 8 pm on February 9. Near Mallapur X Road, a Bolero vehicle allegedly being driven in a rash and negligent manner rammed their car from behind and sped away.

The trio followed the Bolero up to the NTR statue signal at HB Colony. When Sathish stood in front of the vehicle to stop it, the driver allegedly failed to halt, struck him, and continued driving, dragging him for several metres.

Sathish suffered bleeding injuries to his back and was rushed to a hospital for treatment.

Police have registered a case and stated that further investigation is ongoing.
