UP Drug Peddlers Arrested with Narcotics in Srinagar, Kashmir

J&K Police seize drugs from two fugitives from Uttar Pradesh

Two drug peddlers from Uttar Pradesh were arrested in Srinagar, Kashmir, during a naka checking by the Police Station Chanapora, said a Jammu and Kashmir Police official.

The police intercepted a motorcycle with registration JK01AB-3331 carrying two men near Estate Quarter. The suspects were identified as Shahrim Ansari and Saqib Ansari, both residents of Muzaffar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, currently residing in Mandir Bagh, Srinagar.

The duo attempted to flee but were apprehended by the alert policemen on duty. Upon searching, authorities recovered a significant quantity of drugs and narcotic substances from their possession.

An FIR has been registered under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act, and further investigations are underway.

The police urged citizens to report any drug-related activities by contacting the nearest police station or dialing 112. They reassured the public of strict legal action against offenders and called for community cooperation to combat drug abuse.
