DOWNSVILLE, La. — Investigators from the Union Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division served arrest warrants last week at a Downsville residence, resulting in multiple arrests and the seizure of suspected narcotics, firearms, and drug paraphernalia.
Authorities arrested John Earl Ford, Jr., 53, of Downsville; Kaitlyn Denise Taylor, 30, of West Monroe; and Roy Dean Knight, 54, of West Monroe. During the raid, officers observed suspected methamphetamine, paraphernalia, ammunition, and firearms in the residence and in a camper trailer on the property. A search warrant led to the discovery of additional suspected meth and a firearm.
Ford was charged with two counts of distribution of Schedule II controlled substances and illegal carrying of weapons, with bail set at $130,000. Taylor was booked for failure to appear on previous traffic charges, bail $500. Knight was charged with possession of Schedule II controlled substances, bail $12,500.
Investigators said the probe is ongoing, and additional charges may be pending. Douglas Edward “Doug” Taylor, 53, of Downsville, is still wanted on felony warrants for possession of Schedule II drugs and a firearm in the presence of a controlled substance.
