by Ananya Mehta

In a significant anti-narcotics operation, the 48th Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in Jaynagar arrested three drug peddlers and seized a large quantity of narcotics along the India-Nepal border on Friday.

According to Deputy Commandant (Operations) Vivek Ojha, the SSB team carried out a raid in the Pipraun area near the border under the jurisdiction of Harlakhi Police Station. The operation resulted in the arrest of three individuals and the confiscation of illegal substances suspected to be trafficked across the border.

The accused have been identified as:

Umesh Kumar

Vicky Kumar

Rampukar Mukhiya

All three are residents of Pipraun village. The SSB has handed over the accused and the seized contraband to local police for further legal proceedings.

Authorities suspect the smugglers were part of a broader cross-border drug trafficking network. Further investigations are underway to uncover additional links and collaborators.
