SACRAMENTO – A fighter who was scheduled to make his UFC debut next week was arrested in Sacramento following an investigation into child sex crimes, authorities confirmed on Sunday.
The Sacramento Police Department reported that Ahmad Hassanzada turned himself in after an investigation, which began in early 2024. According to jail records, the 28-year-old fighter was booked for allegedly committing a lewd or lascivious act with a child under 14. A warrant had been issued for his arrest.
Hassanzada, who was set to make his UFC octagon debut on Saturday, April 26, had been training with Team Alpha Male, a prominent gym in Sacramento, as indicated by his Instagram.
This arrest has overshadowed the fighter’s upcoming debut and placed a significant halt on his career. The investigation remains ongoing, and Hassanzada is currently in custody.
