Udupi Town police arrested Abdul Rauf, 26, of Shivalli village, for allegedly trafficking MDMA. Acting under DSP Prabhu DT’s guidance, a team led by Inspector Mahesh Prasad apprehended him near Karamballi Rambettu in Shivalli.
The accused was reportedly attempting to sell MDMA from an autorickshaw. Police seized approximately 7.6 grams of MDMA (valued at around Rs 15,000), Rs 3,100 in cash allegedly earned from sales, and the autorickshaw. The total value of the seized property is estimated at Rs 3.2 lakh.
A case has been registered at Udupi Town Police Station under Sections 8(c) and 22(b) of the NDPS Act.
