The Police Team of Police Post Tikri successfully arrested a drug peddler on the Udhampur-Manthal road after recovering 6.62 grams of a heroin-like substance from his possession.
The accused, identified as Udhav Sharma, a resident of Chabutra Bazar, Paba Gali, Udhampur, was seen walking towards Udhampur when he tried to flee upon noticing the police team. However, he was apprehended quickly. A subsequent frisking led to the discovery of the contraband.
Udhav Sharma was arrested on the spot, and the seized substance has been sent for testing. The case is being investigated further by the authorities.
