Noida, Uttar Pradesh – A 19-year-old man, Uday Mahashay, was arrested for allegedly murdering his father, Gautam Mahashay (43), during a drunken altercation in Sarfabad village, Noida, on Sunday.
According to the police, the father and son — both unemployed and heavily dependent on alcohol — got into a heated argument over money for liquor and family property. The situation escalated when Uday fatally struck his father on the head with a brick.
“The family was surviving on the income from their ancestral land. A dispute over that, along with alcohol dependency, triggered the fatal fight,” said Sector-113 SHO Krishna Gopal Sharma.
Police were alerted early Sunday morning and arrived at the scene to find Gautam dead with severe head injuries. A forensic team conducted a detailed examination of the site, and legal formalities, including a panchnama and post-mortem, are underway.
Uday, the son of Gautam and grandson of Kedari Mahashay, has been taken into custody and is being questioned further.
Authorities have confirmed that a full investigation is ongoing.
