LOS ANGELES — UCLA quarterback Pierce Clarkson was arrested on September 5 on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department records. The 21-year-old, who recently joined UCLA for the 2025 NCAA football season, was booked and released on a $30,000 bail.
Details surrounding the incident remain unclear, but sources indicate the arrest may be connected to a possible domestic violence case. Clarkson is scheduled for a court hearing on October 3.
Clarkson transferred to UCLA after a brief offseason at Ole Miss and previously played two seasons at Louisville, appearing in three games as a backup quarterback. He has yet to play a regular-season down for the Bruins, as Nico Iamaleava currently holds the starting quarterback position.
No official statements have been released by UCLA or law enforcement about the circumstances leading to Clarkson’s arrest.
