COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) — A major drug arrest took place in Muscogee County on April 2, as Tyrone Anthony Sylvester was taken into custody following the execution of a search warrant by local law enforcement agencies.
According to Sheriff Greg Countryman, the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Collaborative Intelligence Group (CIG), Special Operations Unit, and Special Response Team coordinated the search operation. The warrant led to the discovery of significant amounts of illegal substances and cash.
Authorities seized the following during the search:
A trafficking quantity of cocaine
Marijuana intended for distribution
A firearm
$37,850 in cash
Drug-related paraphernalia
Sylvester, a convicted felon, now faces several serious charges, including:
Trafficking in cocaine
Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
Possession of drug-related objects
Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime
Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
Tampering with evidence
Reckless conduct
He was transported to the Muscogee County Jail without incident. The investigation remains active, and authorities say additional charges may be forthcoming.
