HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A third suspect has been arrested in connection with the armed robbery of puppies during a planned sale in Huntsville last week, according to police.
The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) confirmed that Tyreese Daiquan Freeman was arrested for his role in the July 10 robbery on James Madison Drive. The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. when a man, preparing to sell puppies, was approached outside his home by several armed men demanding the animals.
The victim complied and was also sprayed with pepper spray by one of the suspects, though he was not seriously injured. Investigators from HPD’s Violent Crimes Unit responded quickly, collecting evidence and identifying a suspect and a vehicle of interest.
By 3 p.m., HPD’s Anti-Crime Team located and stopped the vehicle. Inside were Alan O’Brian Lewis Jr., 22, and Ja’Queze Marquise Williams, 21, both of whom were questioned and later arrested for first-degree robbery involving a firearm.
On Tuesday, Freeman was also arrested and charged with first-degree robbery involving a firearm at a residence. Authorities confirmed that all stolen puppies were safely recovered and returned to the victim.
HPD continues its investigation but says all known suspects are now in custody.
