Tymon Turner, 21, has been held responsible for the death of his close friend, Jac Walters, 19, after crashing a car while under the influence of drugs.
The two had attended a rave in the Forest of Dean along with another friend, Tom Beswick, on November 11, 2023. The group had been consuming alcohol, and Turner admitted to taking at least three lines of ketamine and MDMA before driving.
Around 1.30 a.m. on November 12, while driving a silver Ford Fiesta, Turner lost control of the car, which collided with a bank and flipped onto its roof. Walters suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following his arrest, Turner tearfully told police, “My friend is dead, I just killed my friend.”
A sentencing hearing at Newport Crown Court detailed how the three lifelong friends had left Ceredigion at 10 p.m. to attend the rave. Turner’s reckless decision to drive under the influence ultimately led to tragedy.
Walters’ death is being treated as a case of causing death by dangerous driving under the influence, a serious offense often equated to involuntary manslaughter.
