NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (WFSB) — A 21-year-old man from Manchester, Tyler Peek, was taken into custody early Saturday morning after a street racing-related incident in North Haven.
At approximately 1:30 a.m., police responded to reports of multiple vehicles performing donuts and burnouts near Universal Drive, close to BJ’s Wholesale. Upon arrival, officers observed several cars fleeing the scene.
One vehicle was seen speeding without headlights and illegally passing other vehicles. Authorities captured the license plate and identified the registered owner. After locating the suspect, Tyler Peek admitted to being the driver at the time of the incident and was arrested.
Peek now faces several charges, including:
Failure to Have Lights Lit and Devices Illuminated
Reckless Driving
Failing to Stop When Signaled
Disobeying Direction of an Officer
The investigation is ongoing, and Peek will appear in court at a later date.
