Tyler Brooks Indicted in 2024 Clay County Mass Shooting

Man charged with murder and multiple assaults at Oasis Lounge

WEST POINT, Miss. – A grand jury has indicted Tyler Brooks in connection with a deadly mass shooting in Clay County that occurred in 2024.

Sheriff Eddie Scott confirmed on Monday that Brooks faces first-degree murder and seven counts of aggravated assault following the incident at the Oasis Lounge on Highway 45 Alternate on March 3, 2024.

The shooting left Taleesha Chandler, 20, of Columbus, dead and injured a dozen other people. Brooks was previously arrested by Clay County law enforcement in connection with the case.
