WARRINGTON, PA — A Philadelphia woman has been charged with two felonies after being identified through facial recognition technology in connection with a retail theft from an Ulta Beauty store.
Tyleesia Marie Kitchen, 34, is accused of stealing approximately $387 worth of beauty products from the Ulta store in Warrington Township on July 2. Police were called to the store the following day, where loss prevention staff provided surveillance footage of the suspect.
Investigators used facial recognition software to identify Kitchen as the person seen in the video. A warrant was issued for her arrest.
On July 15, Kitchen appeared in Montgomery County Court on an unrelated matter, where she was taken into custody and later transferred to Warrington Township Police.
She was arraigned by Judge Wertman, who set her bail at $25,000 (10% cash). Unable to post bail, Kitchen was remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility.
Kitchen faces two third-degree felony charges: retail theft and receiving stolen property.
