PEARL RIVER COUNTY, MS — Two women were recently arrested in connection with a shoplifting investigation that took place in Pearl River County. The investigation, which began on Friday, January 25, led authorities to a discovery that extended beyond the initial crime.

According to a press release from the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department, narcotics investigators, in collaboration with the patrol division, were working to locate a reported shoplifter. Their investigation directed them to a location in Picayune, MS, specifically to 28 Red Neck Hill, where they encountered 40-year-old Courtney Lynn Herbert, a primary suspect in the case.

Upon reaching the scene, investigators also identified 52-year-old Consuello Cox, who was present at the location. A search was conducted on their vehicle to locate the stolen items connected to the shoplifting incident.
