Albany, NY (WRGB) — Two women were arrested Tuesday following a search warrant execution in Albany where authorities seized cocaine and fentanyl.

At 10 a.m. on Tuesday, members of the Albany County Sheriff’s Office carried out a search warrant at an address on Lark Street, as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation. During the search, law enforcement found 2 grams of fentanyl and 13 grams of cocaine, believed to be intended for distribution. The discovery of a digital scale, commonly used for drug packaging, further suggested the narcotics were to be sold.

The two women arrested at the scene were identified as 61-year-old Avis M. Williamson of Albany and 24-year-old Miracle F. Williamson.

Avis Williamson was charged with multiple offenses, including two counts of third-degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, a fourth-degree felony for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, and second-degree Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia.

Miracle Williamson faced felony seventh-degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and was released on an appearance ticket.

Authorities have made it clear that their investigation into narcotics distribution in the area is ongoing.

The seizure of drugs like fentanyl and cocaine highlights the increasing efforts by local law enforcement to combat the spread of illegal substances in Albany and surrounding areas.
