Charged with grand larceny for taking city property

by Amelia Crawford

GREENVILLE — Two women were arrested this week after being caught stealing water meters in Greenville.

Police responded Monday to a report on the 500 block of Mill Road where witnesses saw the women removing old water meters and placing them in their vehicles.

The suspects claimed they were employed by a company responsible for collecting old meters from the city, but authorities say this was not true.

Both women, identified as Williams and Lumley, have been charged with grand larceny.
