TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) — A federal jury has found two Tallahassee men guilty of conspiring to distribute marijuana as part of a significant trafficking operation, according to a press release from the United States Attorney’s Office.

Tyquan Watson, 27, and Dezaneil Cosby Jr., 26, were charged with shipping thousands of pounds of marijuana from California to north Florida for resale. Investigators from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) uncovered evidence linking the two men to a large-scale drug operation.

The two were arrested in Tallahassee on March 22, 2024, on federal arrest warrants. During the arrest, authorities seized 183 pounds of marijuana and a firearm.

Court documents revealed that Watson purchased up to 100 pounds of marijuana per week from California, reselling it in Tallahassee. Between September 2023 and January 2024, Watson bought at least 3,169 pounds (almost 2 tons) of marijuana, making approximately $2.4 million in the process.

In October 2022, DEA agents searched Cosby’s residence and found 238 pounds of marijuana along with a firearm.

Both men are scheduled for sentencing on May 2, 2025, with the possibility of facing significant penalties for their involvement in this marijuana distribution conspiracy.
